Governor Edwards held a news conference on Louisiana’s continued recovery from Hurricane Ida on Thursday, Sept. 9

Shreveport, LA – According to the statement, Governor Edwards said that the 75% of the state’s power outages from Hurricane Ida, which made landfall Aug. 29., have been restored.

There are still 271,718 power outages statewide.

Officials say that if you are still without power, make sure you use a generator safely.

Governor John Bel Edwards urged those who have been affected by the hurricane to apply for the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.

Officials say that 42.6% of eligible Louisiana residents are fully vaccinated against the virus.
