Louisiana – Governor Jeff Landry announced that the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved Louisiana’s request for an Economic Injury Disaster Declaration. This declaration makes SBA loans available to businesses affected by the recent New Year’s Day attack.

The parishes included in the declaration are Orleans, Jefferson, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, and St. Tammany. Businesses in these areas can apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans, which will remain available until October 3, 2025.

Governor Landry emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses during this challenging time. “Louisiana, especially New Orleans, thrives off local businesses unique to the area. This declaration is crucial to ensuring those affected by the horrific New Year’s Day attack get the help they need to return to business,” he said, thanking the SBA for their prompt response.

The program aims to provide relief to businesses facing financial hardships due to the attack, helping them recover and sustain operations in the months ahead.
