Louisiana – Governor Jeff Landry announced the arrival of General Motors Insurance in Louisiana, marking a significant step forward in affordable and consumer-friendly auto insurance for the state’s drivers.
The announcement follows Governor Landry’s recent signing of the state’s largest tort reform package, aimed at creating a more balanced and fair insurance market.
“General Motors Insurance coming to Louisiana is a testament to the work we accomplished this legislative session to bring about real insurance reform,” said Governor Landry. “Louisiana families deserve more options in this mandated market, and we are incredibly proud to welcome GM to our state. I am confident this is just the beginning of a more consumer friendly insurance market.”
General Motors Insurance utilizes in-vehicle technology built into Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles from model year 2016 or newer to offer personalized rates based on safe driving habits. Drivers who demonstrate safer behavior can earn lower premiums and additional benefits such as accident forgiveness and deductible waivers.
The company also provides coverage options for non-GM vehicles and partners with third parties to offer homeowners and renters insurance, simplifying the process for Louisiana residents to bundle their policies and save.
