Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced the start of a $12.6 million rehabilitation project on La. 106 (St. Landry Highway) from U.S. 167 to the Avoyelles Parish line, beginning Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

**Scope of Work:**
The 8.26-mile project will include milling asphaltic concrete, reinforcing mesh, subgrade treatment, base rehabilitation, patching, asphalt overlay, drainage structure replacement, steel sheeting, guard rail installation, rumble strips, striping, and other related work.

**Work Schedule:**
Work is expected to occur Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.

**Travel Impacts:**
Intermittent lane closures will be required, causing potential delays. The road will remain open to regular traffic, with a 12-foot maximum lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone. A 60-day road closure will also take place for drainage work and steel sheet pile wall installation. A separate press release will be issued for this closure.

**Emergency Access:**
Emergency vehicles will have access throughout the project, except during the announced road closure event.

The project is expected to be completed by December 2025.
