Shreveport, LA – The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) has joined forces with the Lake Providence Watershed Council and the East Carroll Bass Club to gather Christmas trees for a fisheries enhancement project on Lake Providence.
The initiative aims to improve habitats for popular game fish, including bass, crappie, and bream, by placing the donated trees in various locations throughout the lake.
Residents are encouraged to drop off undecorated Christmas trees at the designated area of the Bryerly Airport Boat Ramp, located at 850 Philips Street in Lake Providence, Louisiana.
The collection site will remain open 24/7 from December 26, 2024, through January 15, 2025.
This project underscores LDWF’s commitment to promoting healthy fisheries and enhancing recreational opportunities for anglers.
