Shreveport, LA – A Shreveport man was arrested following a road rage confrontation that escalated into a felony offense, according to police.

On June 27, officers responded to a report of an aggravated assault in the 1100 block of East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. The victim told officers he had accidentally cut off another driver in traffic.

The suspect, later identified as Timothy Brown, allegedly followed the victim, signaled for him to pull over, and then pointed a handgun at him.

The victim left the scene and immediately contacted authorities. Brown was later identified and taken into custody without incident.

Police are using the case as a reminder of the serious legal consequences of escalating traffic disputes.

“If you point a firearm at someone who is not actively threatening your life, you have committed a felony,” the department stated. “That decision can cost you your freedom, your right to own a firearm, and your right to vote. It can also place your life at risk if others respond with force.”

The Shreveport Police Department urges drivers to remain calm and avoid confrontations, emphasizing that a moment of anger can lead to life-altering consequences.
