Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced a major roadway repair project on a heavily traveled stretch of LA 3 (Benton Road) in Bossier City. The $2 million project is set to begin the night of Monday, July 7, 2025.

The work will involve removing and replacing numerous concrete panels along LA 3 from LA 72 (Old Minden Road) to Viking Drive. The project will also include new roadway striping, updated signage, and other related improvements to enhance safety and drivability.

To reduce disruption for commuters, lane closures will be limited to nighttime hours during weekdays. Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures Monday through Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. On weekends, closures may occur both at night and during the day from Friday through Monday between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

The project is divided into three phases:

  • Phase 1 covers the area from Viking Drive to Douglas Drive

  • Phase 2 extends from Douglas Drive to Shed Road

  • Phase 3 spans Shed Road to Old Minden Road

Work will begin on the southbound lanes near the Viking Drive intersection on the night of July 7. Officials anticipate the entire project will be completed by late Fall 2025, depending on weather and other conditions. Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and stay alert for changing traffic patterns during construction.
