Shreveport, LA – A 24-year-old man has been charged with multiple violent crimes after a 91-year-old Shreveport woman was found beaten, bound, and locked in a closet inside her own home on July 2.
The woman was discovered in critical condition, barely alive after being left alone for an extended period. Authorities say she had suffered severe injuries and was intentionally abandoned, in what police described as an act showing complete disregard for human life.
Shreveport Police detectives quickly launched an intensive investigation. With support from the department’s Narcotics Unit and federal partners, they located and arrested the suspect, identified as Kendrell Thomas, at Stone Vista Apartments.
Thomas is now facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, second-degree battery, and home invasion.
The victim remains hospitalized and is fighting for her life. According to police, even medical staff were stunned that she survived the attack.
The investigation is ongoing as detectives continue to gather evidence in this deeply disturbing case.
