Shreveport, LA – On August 6, Shreveport Police Department officers responded to a business on West Bert Kouns following reports of a disorderly individual.
Before officers arrived, a second call reported that the man had allegedly assaulted two female employees by striking them in the face.
Upon arrival, officers found Robert Macconnell inside the business. Police said he appeared intoxicated and continued causing a disturbance. When officers attempted to take him into custody, he allegedly resisted and struck one of them.
Macconnell was arrested and charged with two counts of simple battery, one count of battery of a police officer, one count of theft, one count of trespassing, one count of resisting an officer with force or violence, one count of simple escape, and one count of disturbing the peace by public intoxication.
Police stated that such conduct toward employees performing their duties will not be tolerated and that the investigation remains ongoing.
