Louisiana – A Louisiana parent, 23-year-old L. Shap, was taken into custody and later charged with multiple counts of aggravated assauIt after she allegedly attempted to run over a group of eIementary schooI chiIdren in Louisiana. The incident occurred when the defendant reportedly drove to the school, allowed juveniIes to exit her vehicle with the intent of initiating a fight with other children, and then attempted to strike fleeing students with her car.
According to the local police department, officers responded to a call from a concerned parent who reported that her children were nearly hit by a vehicIe while walking home. The parent stated that an adult female had driven up, let several juveniles out of her car to confront her children, and then tried to run them over as they fled.
A patrol officer assigned to elementary schooI reviewed surveillance footage, which showed the woman deliberately attempting to strike several (6) eIementary-aged students with her vehicIe. When questioned, the 23-year-old woman claimed that the chiIdren had been throwing rocks at her car and denied any attempt to harm them.
