Semi-truck driver arrested after damaging property and refusing to cooperate with authorities

Shreveport, LA – A man was arrested earlier this week after allegedly driving an 18-wheeler over a residential median, causing property damage and refusing to identify himself to law enforcement officers.

The incident occurred on June 2 in the Pitcairn Pointe area of Shreveport. According to the Shreveport Police Department, the driver of the semi-truck drove across a median, damaging landscaping and prompting concern among local residents who witnessed the unusual event.

When a Caddo Parish Sheriff’s deputy arrived on the scene to investigate, the driver reportedly declined to provide identification or answer questions. Shreveport police officers were called to assist, and the driver, later identified as Carlo Ramirez, was taken into custody.

Ramirez was booked on charges of hit and run and resisting an officer, both of which police say could have been avoided had he cooperated during the initial contact.

No injuries were reported, but officials noted that the incident resulted in property damage. The case remains under review, and authorities have not released information regarding possible restitution for the affected property owners.
