Shreveport, LA – Three Shreveport Police Communication Officers were recently recognized for their extraordinary efforts during a harrowing 911 call earlier this year.

On June 28, 2025, PCO I Belion, PCO I Davidson, and PCO I Jenkins received the Life-Saving Award from the Veterans of Foreign Wars for their role in helping rescue a woman being assaulted inside a moving vehicle.

Despite the distress call cutting out mid-conversation, the dispatchers remained on the line, using GPS data, keen listening, and determination to assist first responders in locating the victim quickly. Officers arrived within minutes, rescued the woman, and apprehended the suspect.

Dispatchers play a vital but often unseen role in public safety, providing calm and steady support during emergencies while the rest of the city sleeps.

Shreveport Police praised Belion, Davidson, and Jenkins as “quiet heroes” whose skill and dedication saved a life and exemplify true service.
