Shreveport, LA – City of Shreveport departments, including the Shreveport Fire Department, participated in tabletop training exercises with U.S. Army Civil Affairs soldiers last week.
The training aimed to help the military better understand the city’s normal and emergency operations.
The Army conducts these exercises nationwide to prepare for potential deployments in hostile or politically sensitive environments where they may assist with critical operations.
For Shreveport Fire, the training provided an opportunity to review its disaster response policies, assess past challenges, and learn from solutions implemented by other agencies.
Officials said the collaboration helped improve preparedness and response strategies for both the military and local emergency services.
The department expressed appreciation for the opportunity to participate and hopes the training was mutually beneficial.
