Shreveport, LA – Shreveport Fire Department personnel took part in The Health Big Event over the weekend, providing hands-on CPR demonstrations and sharing emergency medical and fire safety information with attendees.
The event, hosted by the Urban League of Louisiana and Ochsner Health, offered community members of all ages a chance to learn lifesaving techniques in an interactive setting.
Firefighters and EMS staff displayed equipment, distributed educational materials, and encouraged children and adults alike to practice chest compressions as part of basic CPR training.
Organizers said the goal was to engage the public while emphasizing the importance of preparedness in medical and fire emergencies.
Department officials thanked the event hosts and residents who stopped by the display and said they remain committed to public education and outreach as a key component of emergency response efforts in Shreveport.
