Shreveport, LA – It was a weekend of friendly competition and community spirit as local first responders hit the field for the SPD Spring Softball Tournament. The Shreveport Fire Department claimed the championship title, edging out the Shreveport Police Department, who took home the runner-up trophy — and the award for Best Dressed Team.
Hosted by the Shreveport Police Department, the tournament brought together teams from various agencies, including the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police, who also provided trophies for the event.
“Thanks for the invite, Shreveport Police Department,” the fire department shared in a post after their win. “Good times all around this weekend.”
The tournament was more than just a game — it was a celebration of camaraderie, teamwork, and the strong bonds between agencies that serve the Shreveport community. Family, friends, and supporters turned out in force, cheering from the stands and enjoying a day of unity among public safety personnel.
Organizers and participants alike expressed gratitude to everyone who helped make the event a success, and enthusiasm is already building for next year’s rematch.
