Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Fire Department has officially sworn in Recruit Class 75, marking the beginning of their service to the city.
Fire Chief Clarence Reese, Jr. administered the oath of office, emphasizing the responsibility and dedication required to wear the uniform.
During his address, Chief Reese reminded the new Probationary Firefighters that their role extends beyond a job—it is a lifelong commitment to serving the community with courage and integrity.
He encouraged them to embrace every challenge, uphold the standards set by those before them, and take pride in the legacy they are now part of.
“You are now part of a proud tradition, one that demands excellence and selflessness every single day,” Chief Reese stated.
“As you begin this journey, remember: you’re not just here to answer the call—you’re here to carry the legacy forward.”
The graduation ceremony was hosted at Broadmoor Baptist Church, where family, friends, and department leaders gathered to celebrate the recruits’ achievement.
