Shreveport, LA – Corporal Brian Michael of the Shreveport Police Cross Lake Patrol received a Life Saving Award for his heroic actions on January 21st, when he rescued a man who had fallen into frigid 36-degree water near Squirrel Point.
Alerted by a citizen, Corporal Michael quickly responded by jumping into his patrol boat and rushing to the scene.
The man’s body temperature had dropped to a dangerous 85 degrees, but thanks to Corporal Michael’s swift rescue and immediate aid, the man survived.
The award recognizes the courage, commitment, and compassion officers like Corporal Michael demonstrate daily while serving the Shreveport community.
