Shreveport, LA — Just after 4 a.m. on July 19, Shreveport Police responded to a report of a disorderly person that quickly escalated into a violent home invasion.

Donald Ashley, who was intoxicated and aggressive, physically attacked officers on the scene. He ripped off their equipment, including radios and pistol magazines, and even attempted to grab an officer’s firearm.

Thanks to the training and composure of the responding officers, no one was seriously injured.

Ashley was safely taken into custody and now faces multiple charges including home invasion, battery of a dating partner, resisting an officer, and two counts of battery of a police officer.

Police officials noted the situation could have ended tragically, but officers were able to prevent further harm.
