Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department partnered with city officials and community members on Saturday for a neighborhood cleanup in the Martin Luther King Jr. area, as part of the ongoing Block-by-Block initiative.

Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith led officers in the effort, while Mayor Tom Arceneaux joined city workers and Council Chairwoman Tabitha Taylor mobilized local residents.

Despite the weather, participants remained committed to the cause, demonstrating a shared dedication to improving the city—one block at a time.

The cleanup highlighted the strength of cross-community collaboration and the importance of civic pride. The Block-by-Block initiative continues to bring together leaders and residents to address neighborhood needs and foster long-term community investment.

City officials called the event a success and a powerful example of what can be accomplished when local government and citizens work side by side.
