Shreveport Police Department special response team completes intensive training

Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department reported that its Special Response Team recently completed several hours of intensive training in crisis negotiation, hostage rescue, and close-quarters combat.

The team, made up of SPD officers who volunteer for the added responsibility of responding to high-risk situations, maintains its readiness through quarterly firearms proficiency testing and physical fitness evaluations.

The Department noted that this training helps ensure the officers are prepared to respond effectively to critical incidents and protect the community.
