Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department’s Community Oriented Policing Bureau welcomed a group of young girls to its annual Girls Youth Empowerment Camp on Tuesday, held at Bill Cockrell Park.
The event focused on building confidence, leadership skills, and a sense of community among participants. Attendees engaged in first aid training, team-building exercises, and interactive activities designed to promote personal growth and lasting friendships.
Officers from the department played a key role in organizing and guiding the day’s events, which aimed to empower local youth and strengthen ties between law enforcement and the community.
“We’re proud of each and every one of these amazing young ladies,” SPD said in a statement, thanking both the participants and the officers who made the camp possible.
