Shreveport police to temporarily close records office ahead of headquarters move

by Erica Knowles

Shreveport, LA – The Shreveport Police Department announced that its Central Records Office will be temporarily closed on July 24 and 25 as part of a relocation effort.

The department is moving its operations to a new facility at 1120 South Pointe Parkway, Building A.

According to officials, the records office will reopen to the public on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.

This relocation marks a significant step in the city’s long-term plan to vacate the aging facility at 1234 Texas Avenue.

The move will allow for the future demolition of the current site and the construction of a new, permanent Shreveport Police Headquarters.

The department thanked the public for its patience and support during the transition, which they say reflects a broader commitment to modernizing police infrastructure in the city.
