Shreveport, LA – Shreveport Police Community Liaison Officers recently visited St. Mary’s Hospital, where they spent time teaching children important safety practices as part of a community outreach effort.
Corporal Gray and Corporal Maeshack led an engaging session focused on responsible babysitting, helping participants understand when to call 911 and how to recognize the difference between emergency and non-emergency situations.
The event was designed to empower young people with practical knowledge while strengthening trust between police and the community.
“Building relationships, sharing knowledge, and supporting our youth—this is the heart of community policing,” said a department spokesperson. “These lessons help ensure our future leaders are both confident and prepared.”
The initiative is part of the Shreveport Police Department’s broader effort to connect with residents through education and engagement outside of traditional law enforcement settings.
