SPD to host youth fishing camp for children aged 6 to 13

Shreveport, LA – Local children will have the opportunity to enjoy a day of outdoor fun and learning at an upcoming youth fishing camp hosted by the police department.

The event is scheduled for June 7 and will take place at the Lake Patrol location, 2900 Municipal Pier Road. The camp is open to children between the ages of 6 and 13 and is designed to promote community engagement, outdoor activity, and positive interactions between local youth and law enforcement.

Organizers say the camp will include a day of fishing, games, and educational sessions on water safety and conservation. The initiative is part of the department’s broader effort to strengthen relationships with families and provide meaningful experiences for young residents during the summer break.

Participation is free, but pre-registration is required. Families interested in enrolling their children can complete the application at https://shreveportla.seamlessdocs.com/f/25YouthFishApp. Space is limited, and spots are expected to fill quickly.

Officials encourage early registration and note that all necessary equipment will be provided. The event will be supervised by trained personnel and officers from the department’s lake patrol unit.

For more information, families are encouraged to contact the department directly or visit their official website.
