Shreveport, LA – A suspect accused of a violent downtown assault has been identified and taken into custody, according to information released by the Shreveport Police Department.
Police said the individual, identified as Luis Morales, was arrested in Acadia Parish, where he is currently being held on two counts of attempted first-degree murder related to an unrelated incident. In addition to those charges, Morales is expected to face battery charges in Caddo Parish in connection with the downtown assault.
Investigators said the assault involved a sudden attack on a victim, who was struck and injured during the incident. Authorities described the attack as serious and said it posed a significant risk to the victim’s safety.
The case remains under investigation, and officials noted that assistance from the community helped law enforcement identify and locate the suspect. Further details are expected to be released as the legal process continues.
