Shreveport, LA – According to the LaDOTD officials, this shift will redirect southbound LA 23 traffic onto the newly constructed lanes of the new Belle Chasse Bridge.

To ensure a smooth and safe transition, the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff Department, along with road signage and new lane striping, will be in place to guide vehicles through the area.

During this time, northbound LA 23 traffic will continue to use the old Belle Chasse lift bridge.

Tolling for the new Belle Chasse Bridge is expected to begin later this summer once the bridge is fully operational in both directions.

It is important to note that these scheduled activities may be subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors impacting the construction project.
