Shreveport, LA – According to the police officials, this voluntary initiative is designed to improve communication and foster understanding between law enforcement and individuals with special needs.
The “Friends of the Community” decal helps first responders quickly identify individuals who may struggle with communication or understanding directions during emergencies. By placing the decal near the front window of your home or on the rear driver’s side window of your vehicle, you ensure it is visible to first responders, facilitating smoother and more sensitive interactions.
**Program Benefits:**
– Enhances safety and communication
– Promotes sensitivity and awareness
– Ensures inclusive interactions with law enforcement
“Effective communication is essential for ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals,” said Sgt. Matt Hannah of the Bossier City Police Department. “This program is a significant step towards bridging gaps and fostering a more inclusive environment where everyone’s needs are recognized and respected.”
