The 45-year-old father says he had to undergo a life-saving surgery after learning he was misdiagnosed for years. He says surgeons had to remove 9.875-inch tumor from his body after he was misdiagnosed with diverticulitis. He experienced stomach aches and told the doctors that it ‘felt like he was dying.’ Unfortunately, the medical personnel reportedly told him that it was only diverticulitis and gave him antibiotics, which made things even worse. “One of the doctors commented on how remarkable my tumor was. They couldn’t figure out how I wasn’t dead already.” the 45-year-old man said.

During an interview with Newsweek, the 45-year-old man from New Jersey, who now lives in California, Patrick Duff, says he had a 9.875-inch tumor removed from his coIon after years of it being misdiagnosed by doctors.

Duff told Newsweek that in 2019, he started having stomach problems. The 45-year-old dad was reportedly checked into the hospital and was diagnosed with diverticulitis. According to the heath officials, diverticulitis is a condition where infection or inflammation of pouches called diverticula can form in your intestines. Duff said that he was supposed to have a colonoscopy. Unfortunately, it got canceled without explanation.

Two years later, Duff experienced stomach aches and told the doctors that it ‘felt like he was dying.’ Unfortunately, the medical personnel reportedly told him that it was only diverticulitis, and took CT scans and x-rays.

The doctors then gave him antibiotics, which made things even worse, especially when Duff tried to go to the bathroom. One month later, Duff went to see another doctor and got his colonoscopy.

During an interview with Heady NJ, Duff reportedly said:

“When you have a colonoscopy, someone must drive you home. Both my mother and father came with me but had to wait in the car due to COVID. While they wheeled me in, I let them know that I had a beautiful wife and son I needed to see again, “So please make sure I wake up.” When my eyes opened, the doctor looked concerned. I jokingly said to her, “Was it really that bad up there?” I’m so sorry, but you have cancer,” she replied.”

Just 7 days later, the 45-year-old father underwent a 10.5-hour surgery to remove the 9.875-inch mass from his coIon.

Duff reportedly told Newsweek: “That whole week my mom came and stayed with me so we could discuss the difficult details of if I didn’t make it through, which included things like the songs I wanted played at my funeral. It was one of the most difficult things I have ever done.”

After spending 5 days in the hospital, he went home with pain medications. Duff’s oncologist reportedly told the 45-year-old man that after his surgery, he was at extremely high risk, stage 2, and recommended 6 months of chemotherapy right away.

But, Duff reportedly declined and told the doctor that he was going to take his own treatment – “Rick Simpson Oil”. The oncologist was adamant that Duff was making a big mistake. His oncologist doctor agreed to monitor him even though Duff wasn’t doing chemo.

During an interview with Heady NJ, Duff reportedly said:

“I was frequently monitored with blood tests to check on my Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) levels and white/red blood counts. Each time it showed no signs of cancer returning. At the six-month marker, I had to get another colonoscopy, CT scan, and blood test.

Three weeks ago, I met with my oncologist to hear the results of my tests. When I first met with him, I was 160 pounds and frail. On that, I weighed 193 lbs. He said all my tests were clear, with no signs of the cancer returning, and at this point, I was CANCER FREE!”
