Shreveport, LA – Two convicted felons were arrested earlier this week following a law enforcement operation that uncovered multiple firearms, illegal drugs, and a marijuana grow operation at a residence in Shreveport.

On June 3, officers with the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Abatement Team, in coordination with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), executed a search warrant at a home located in the 900 block of Wilton Street.

Inside the residence, authorities discovered five semi-automatic firearms, one machine gun, body armor, 18 marijuana plants, and additional narcotics. Police said the items were located throughout the property and appeared to be part of an illegal drug operation.

Two men were taken into custody during the search:

  • Kymmton Solomon, 26, who has a prior felony conviction for accessory to second-degree murder

  • Gabriel Jacobs, 35, previously convicted in connection with a drive-by shooting

Solomon and Jacobs are facing multiple charges, including:

  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

  • Possession of a machine gun (Solomon only)

  • Possession with intent to distribute narcotics

  • Probation violations (Solomon)

Authorities emphasized that both suspects were on probation at the time of the arrest. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.

Law enforcement officials say the operation is part of a continued effort to reduce violent crime and drug trafficking in the Shreveport area.
