Woman arrested after handgun thrown from Cross Lake Bridge recovered by magnet fishing team

Shreveport, LA – Shreveport Police arrested Alexis Mullone after a handgun she reportedly tossed off the Cross Lake Bridge was recovered.

The firearm, which was later confirmed stolen from Fort Worth, Texas, was located with the assistance of a private team using magnet fishing techniques.

Police said Mullone came to Shreveport Police headquarters for questioning, where she admitted to leaving her one-year-old child unattended in a vehicle outside.

The child was safely released to family members.

Mullone was taken into custody and charged with illegal possession of a stolen firearm and child desertion.

Shreveport Police continue to investigate the incident.
