Shreveport, LA — On the morning of July 19, officers responded to a disturbance call on the 6600 block of Bert Kouns involving a woman causing a scene and refusing to leave.

Nita Capps was reportedly laying on her car horn, disrupting business, and refused to move when officers arrived. She responded with profanity and threatened to have the officers fired.

The situation escalated when Capps threw her car in reverse and struck an officer. Fortunately, the officers were not injured.

Further investigation revealed Capps was in possession of multiple narcotics.

She was arrested and now faces charges including battery of a police officer and two counts of possession of narcotics.

Police remind the public that threatening officers while trespassing and committing offenses is not a legal defense.
