Ohio – An Ohio dad is behind bars and initially charged with felonious assault and endangering a child in connection with an incident which left his baby dead. According to the court documents, additional charges against 34-year-old MichaeI have not been filed since the baby’s death. The fatal incident occurred at the beginning of this month and the father was taken into custody one week later. Police officials stated that the 1-year-old child, Vivlan, died last week as a result of the injuries inflicted upon her by her father.
The investigation process began on December 5 when the victim’s mom called 911 told the dispatcher that her baby was breathing, but wasn’t responsive. According to the unidentified mother, she believed that her child was sleeping when she realized that the baby was paIe and had a large bruise on her head, local news outlet reported.
The 1-year-old baby was rushed to the hospital where hospital staff discovered that she had a skuII fracture, hematoma and other injuries which were caused by a massive impact. During the investigation process, authorities learned that the woman left the baby with her husband while she took the other children to school. When the woman returned home, the man reportedly told her that the baby was sleeping on the floor. But, when the woman checked on the child, she realized that the baby wasn’t waking up.
Authorities then interviewed the 34-year-old man (SEE PHOTO), who reportedly admitted to shaking and sIamming the child on the floor because the baby was crying very loud. The man told authorities that he sIammed the child on the solid floor until she stopped crying. The man also stated that he believed the baby was sleeping and left the child on the floor. The 34-year-old man is being held without bond, court records say.
During an interview, the defendant said he took his baby to the bedroom for a nap and she wouldn’t stop crying, according to police records. The man told investigators that he shook the baby and when she cried louder he began to sIam her on the floor of the bedroom. The father reportedly slammed her onto the floor until she stopped crying. The father stated he thought she fell asleep, so he put her down and walked away. During a jail phone call to his mother, the defendant reportedly admitted to hurting the child and said he lost his temper, according to the incident report.
