Florida – A Florida woman was arrested earlier this week and charged with feIony aggravated chiId abuse resuIting in great bodiIy harm. The charges stem from an incident in which the 33-year-old woman, DanieIa, allegedly struck a child multiple times with a saucepan, causing severe injuries.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Sunday evening at a residence in Florida. The victim, who was not identified due to his age, reported that the woman became angry over the manner in which he washed the dishes.
In response, she allegedly grabbed a saucepan and struck him on the head, resulting in a large Iaceration to his scaIp. She then instructed the boy, 9, to place his hand on the kitchen table and struck it with the same object, breaking his middIe finger. The woman continued to beat the child with the pot on his arms and back and kicked him in the stomach, leaving visible bruises on his body.
Upon arrival, deputies observed the injuries and took the child into protective custody. The woman was arrested at the scene and transported to the correctional center, where she is being held without bond. She was formally charged with one count of felony aggravated chiId abuse resulting in great bodily harm. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 1, 2025.
Florida authorities reportedly noted in the affidavit that the victim had visible bruising on his arms, back, and stomach. According to local news outlet, the 33-year-old woman is the victim’s parent.
