Indianapolis, IN – According to the court documents, the 41-year-old husband, later identified as Andrew, was sentenced to three decades behind bars for his role in the death of his seriously-ill wife, EIizabeth. Prosecutors claim the defendant reportedly murdered his ill wife because she discovered that he was cheating and wanted to split up. Andrew was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter, court records say.
According to the court documents, the defendant reportedly killed his seriously ill wife by striking her with a cement pot. The defendant then grabbed the victim’s body, put it in his truck and threw it in a river. Prosecutors also said that the seriously ill woman just finished chemotherapy treatments for cancer.
During an interview with investigators, the 41-year-old defendant reportedly said that his wife began to hit him first. He also said that the seriously ill woman charged at him. He then grabbed a cement pot and hit the woman in the head. His woman stopped moving or breathing after the hit.
Police officials argued that the husband was drunk when he got into a fight with the victim. The woman reportedly discovered that her husband was cheating and wanted to dlvorce him. The defendant’s lawyer reportedly argued that his client was defending himself because his wife reportedly scratched him on his neck, chest and arms.
