Houston, TX – According to the court documents, the 32-year-old mom, later identified as Jesica, was sentenced to 6 decades behind bars after she pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including injury to a child with serious bodily or mental injury and abandoning or endangering a child with reckless criminal negligence. The woman pleaded guilty earlier this year and was sentenced on Friday. Prosecutors claim the woman intentionally gave her 4-year-old child drugs,
Prosecutors also said the charges against the mither stemmed from the poisoning of one of her 5 children, but they believe she abused all of her kids. The investigation process began in 2022 after the woman’s 4-year-old child was hospitalized. According to the court documents, the woman reportedly brought her child to the ER and told the doctors that her child had been suffering from chronic seizures. The woman also brought the same girl to the hospital on multiple previous occasions for the same reason. During the investigation process, authorities discovered that doctors analyzed the child’s urlne during the previous visits and found high amounts of anti-allergy medication (benadryI) in her system.
When the child was admitted again, the results came back the same. When the mother reportedly brought the child to the hospital in June 2022, she reportedly accompanied the little girl to the bathroom several times a day, where she gave the child different medications. According to L&C, after each visit, the 4-year-old child suffered full-body tremors, elevated heart rate and was unable to stand on her own. The child’s results came back positive for the drug every day she was at the facility. The hospital staff then called the authorities and reportedly said that the mother was giving her child high doses of the drug, in order to produce selzures. During an initial interview with investigators, the mother reportedly denied giving her daughter the anti-allergy medication.
The woman then admitted to giving the little girl tablets on several instances. Authorities then searched her bag and reportedly found the anti-allergy medication and two other medications, including antidepressant. Several days later, the child’s results came back positive for all 3 medications. The woman was taken into custody, but while out on bond, she repeatedly continued to polson children. The mother even gave medication to another girl, who was not her child. The child, who was not identified, reportedly told prosecutors that the woman told her that she is a nurse and reportedly gave her medication that caused her to feel dizzy. Prosecutors claimed that the mother, while out on bond, began dating to get access to the men’s children and give them medication.
