Jacksonville, FL – According to the police officials, the 34-year-old woman, later identified as Tyshal, was arrested and later charged with multiple charges, including: first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and child neglect in connection with her boyfriend’s child’s death. Prosecutors claim the woman sicced a big dog on the child, later identified as 9-year-old Jamara, before she beat her to death. The 34-year-old woman was formally charged this week, court records say.
The investigation process began in June after the 911 caller told the dispatcher that the child was not breathing. First responders discovered that the child, who was covered with bruises, burns and bite marks, was rushed to the hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. During the investigation process, authorities reportedly discovered that the entire incident was captured on surveillance camera.
In the video, the father’s girlfriend can be seen siccing a big dog on the child. The woman was holding the pet on a leash while ‘instructing the attack’. The woman then started kicking and punching the little girl while she was lying on the ground. The woman then started dragging the victim’s body before hitting her again. The medical examiner told investigators that the child’s death was a homicide by blunt force trauma to the head and torso. The child also had burns on her feet as well, court records say.
During the investigation process, authorities also discovered that the little girl was subjected to different methods of punishment by her father’s girlfriend, including: do extended wall sits, run in place with her arms raised. The child was also regularly beaten with objects, kicked, and punched. It remains unclear how the defendant’s boyfriend and child’s dad was unaware of the ongoing injuries and abuse his daughter was being subjected. Authorities have not yet released a motive or what motivated the girlfriend to seek to ongoing abuse and ultimately kill her boyfriend’s 9 year old daughter.
