Phoenix, AZ – According to the police officials, the 26-year-old parent, later identified as Wannda, was taken into custody and later charged with multiple charges, including murder and child abuse, in connection with her baby’s death. The mother reportedly told investigators that it’s possible that she hurt the child but, did not mean to hurt her after performing a bck-cracking adjustment on the infant.
The 3-month-old baby was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries. The doctors reportedly discovered that the baby suffered life-threatening injuries, including: bIeeding and sweIIing to the brain, broken ribs and liver damage. The investigation process began in March after the woman took her baby to the hospital. Hospital staff called the authorities after discovering about the baby’s injuries.
During an interview with investigators, the mother reportedly said that she woke up on the fatal day and realized that her baby was gaving a seizure. The parent then wrapped the baby in a blanked and went back to sleep, because, as she claims, the seizure ‘seemed to stop’, When the woman woke up, the baby started having seizures again. She then decided to take the child to the hospital.
In a follow-up interview with investigators, the mother reportedly denied hurting the baby. But, she reportedly told investigators that she performed a chiropractic adjustment in a bid to crack the girl’s back. The mother, who reportedly said it was probably reckless to do that, also told investigators that it was a possible that she hurt the child but did not mean to hurt her. The 26-year-old mom is being held on $1 million bond.
