Virginia Beach, VA – According to the court documents, the 44-year-old defendant, later identified as Devon, was sentenced to five decades behind bars for his role in the death of 17-year-old Asla four years ago. Prosecutors claim the defendant was sentenced after pleading guilty to first-degree murder. The girl was Iured by the defendant, his wife and then-17-year-old Dasha, who is the sister of a man the victim was set to testify against in court. After the girl died, prosecutors dropped the se-ual assault charges against the man she was set to testify.
According to the court documents, the girl was Iured to a home, before she was kidnapped, put into a vehicle and driven to the woods. There, the defendant’s wife, 34-year-old CrystaI told then-17-year-old Dasha to shoot the victim. After she denied, the woman grabbed the gun and shot the girl herself. The woman, who was sentenced to life in prison earlier this year, told the girl to turn around and shot her from behind while the child begged for mercy.
Prosecutors claim the defendants shot the girl because she was set to testify against a man, who was accused of trying to ra-e her. Dasha’s next court hearing is scheduled for next month, court records say. The investigation process began on September 23, 2020 after the 911 caller told the dispatcher about a body in the woods. During the investigation process, authorities reportedly discovered that the child was Iured by the defendat’s wife, who reportedly set up a halr appointment.
After the teen arrived at the location, she was put into a vehicle and taken into the woods, where she was killed. While the victim was walking, Dasha was holding the murder weapon, but hesitated to use it. The 34-year-old woman then grabbed the gun and shot the victim from behind. Right before she was killed, teen pleaded for mercy and even promised not to testify in the se-ual assault trial.
