Detroit, MI – According to the court documents, the 50-year-old defendant, later identified as Jasson, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after he was convicted of multiple charges, including first-degree premeditated murder. Prosecutors claim the defendant beat his 47-year-old partner, KathIeen, before he stabbed the woman to death three years ago.
The victim, who was found dead by her family member in the home she shared with the defendant, reportedly suffered six dozen stab wounds. During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the defendant used several different knives to kill his girIfriend. The investigation process began in July 2021 after the victim’s family member found the victim and called the authorities. Authorities later discovered that the woman was stabbed and beaten with a hammer.
Shortly after he killed his partner, the defendant fled the scene and took the woman’s credit card and vehicle. During the trial, the defendant claimed that he killed the victim because he was defending himself. The defendant also told authorities that he and his partner fought very hard, like men. ‘Luckily, he was able to defeat her and then kill her’, he reportedly told authorities.
Prosecutor Peter released the following statement: “As a community, we cannot tolerate such acts of brutality. This sentence ensures that justice is served for the victim, her family, and all those affected by this senseless violence. Our thoughts are with the loved ones who continue to grieve, and we hope this conviction brings them some measure of peace.”
