Jacksonville, FLORIDA – Police officials released a statement, saying that the the 34-year-old adoptive parent from Florida, later identified as Dianne, was arrested and later charged with multiple charges, including first-degree murder while engaged in aggravated child abuse, aggravated child abuse, kidnapping and destroying evidence in connection with their adopted child’s death. Authorities say the woman reportedly severely abused and neglecting the 13-year-old child, whose body was discovered at their home.

During the investigation process, authorities in Florida also discovered that the child had been restrained in the garage, monitored by a security camera, and subjected to prolonged mistreatment. The investigation process began after the adoptive parent called 911 and told the dispatcher that her daughter was not responsive. The responding officers found the child wearing nothing but diaper, officials said.

First responders pronounced the girl dead at the scene. The child had visible signs of abuse and was severely malnourished. According to the police officials, the child’s body was covered with marks and wounds, which were in all stages of healing. During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the child was locked in a garage before she died.

The woman had a camera installed inside the garage and monitored the child. While the child was lying on the floor, the adoptive parent reportedly used chIorine in an attempt to destroy the evidence in the garage. The woman even drove several other children to a different residence before seeking medical help for her dying child. The 34-year-old parent is being held without bond, court records say.
