Florida – A Florida woman was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder after authorities say she stabed a man over the weekend. Court records list the attempted murder charge, and the 22-year-old defendant, Z. MarshaII, was taken into custody the following day.

According to the arrest report and statements to detectives, the victim told officers he had met the woman onIine two days earlier and that she invited him to spend the night at her home. The two spent time together at the residence, and an aItercation broke out late Saturday evening as the man was packing his belongings to leave.

The unidentified victim told responding officers that during the dispute the woman began searching his pockets, apparently looking for rolling papers used to smoke marljuana. The man said he then insulted the woman using a derogatory sIur for people with inteIIectual disabiIities. The police report quotes the woman as replying, “You wanna see retarded?” before allegedly producing a large blade and stabbing the man once in the back of the neck. The victim was treated at the local medical center for the injury.

Officers said they were called to the scene after a 911 call and found the victim there. Florida authorities later interviewed him and used a photo lineup in which he identified the woman, according to sources. Following the identification and investigation, she was arrested and transported to a correctional facility; she was being held without bond pending further court action.

When questioned by investigators, the woman reportedly told police she acted in self-defense, claiming the man had punched her in the face before she grabbed the knife. Police note in their report that the woman showed no visible signs of injury and that she refused to be photographed for documentation. Those details are included in the arrest report and were noted by detectives during their initial investigation.

The investigation followed standard procedures for an assault with a weapon. Officers responded to the scene, rendered aid to the victim and arranged transport to a medical facility. Florida authorities took statements from the victim and other possible witnesses, collected physical evidence from the scene, and obtained a photo lineup for identification. Law enforcement then used the information gathered during interviews and evidence collection to seek charges and effect an arrest. Court records and the arrest report were used to support the attempted murder charge filed against the woman.

At this stage, most public accounts of the incident come from the police arrest report and local reporting; officials have not released additional details about motive beyond the statements in the report. The woman’s next scheduled court appearance was listed in court records, where prosecutors will present the evidence supporting the attempted murder charge and the defense may respond.
