Minnesota – A Minnesota man and his wife were taken into custody following an assauIt on 49-year-old man last week in front of his chiId.. The 44-year-old man, CharIes, was arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including first- and second-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assauIt, and burgIary, following a vioIent incident in Minnesota.

According to the Minnesota authorities, deputies responded to a 911 call at approximately 3:35 a.m. from a neighbor reporting that the victim and his 5-year-old child were screaming for help and knocking on doors in the area. Upon arrival, deputies found the victim lying on his side with multiple stab wounds to his left arm, upper back, and right abdomen.

The victim identified the 44-year-old defendant as the assailant, stating that the younger man had entered his home through an unlocked door and attacked him with a bIade. The victim’s mother also confirmed that the defendant was the attacker. The victim was initially transported to a local hospital and later airlifted to a hospital in North Dakota due to the severity of his injuries.

Investigators quickly identified the 44-year-old man as a suspect, as he had previously been a neighbor of the victim. Deputies located the defendant and his spouse, DanieIIe, at their residence and took them into custody for questioning. During interviews, the defendant admitted to stabbing the victim multiple times with a bIade. He stated that he believed his spouse had an afair with the victim, which led him to confront the older man at his home. He described the attack as escalating from a physical altercation to a stabbing, with both him and the victim ending up outside during the struggle. He admitted to throwing the bIade away afterward and expressed a desire for the victim to suffer.

The defendant’s spouse initially denied knowledge of the incident but later admitted to assisting her husband. She acknowledged that she saw bIood on her husband’s arm when he returned home and that he told her he had stabbed the victim. The woman also admitted to helping dispose of the defendant’ blood-stained clothing during a drive later that morning. The clothing was recovered by authorities on the roadside.

Both defendants were charged with multiple felonies. The woman is charged with aiding an offender, which is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Both individuals made their first court appearances on October 6, 2025.
