Milwaukee, WI – According to the court documents, the 35-year-old adoptive parent, later identified as Briane, was sentenced to more than two decades in prison for her role in t-rturing her child. The woman was sentenced after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including intentionaIIy causing great bodily harm, reckless endangerment, neglect of a child resulting in great bodily harm and causing mental harm to a child.

The woman must serve additional two decades of supervised release for physically and emotionally torturing her 15-year-old son, who is adopted. Judge John told the defendant that this is one of the most disturbing cases he has ever seen. The judge also told the woman that her home was like a c0ncentration camp. The victim told investigators he was locked in his room a lot because he couldn’t be trusted around the house because he was stealing food.

During the sentencing, prosecutors stated that the adoptive parent would t-rture her child by withholding food from the boy and only allowed him to eat once a day. The child was found seriously emaciated with sunken face. Prosecutors also stated that the parent would regularly beat the boy with a metaI pipe for a different reason, including when the boy would eat without permission. At one instance, the boy, who was not identified due to his age, ran aawy because he was starving and his adoptive parent regularly beats him.

The defendant’s partner found the child and returned him home. The adoptive mom then cut his jacket so he couldn’t stay outside for a long period of time. During the sentencing, the adoptive parent apologized for her actions’, but Judge John told her that ‘he was not buying her specious repentance’. Judge John reportedly said: “You know what you did, over and over again. You’re sorry you got caught.” The defense attorney, Kenneth, claims his client isn’t a monster and also said she’s a person who has mental health struggles.
