Atlanta, GA – According to the police officials, the 19-year-old mom, later identified as Sptember, was arrested and later charged with second-degree murder and child cruelty after her baby was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead. Police officials say that 42-year-old Lamlsha and 39-year-old Benie were also taken into custody in connection with this incident, but the reIationship between them was not described by police.
The investigation process began on Tuesday after officers responded to the hotel where the mom and the other two defendants were staying and found the unresponsive baby. The responding officers discovered that the child was wrapped in a wet blanked and placed in front of the AC unit.
The temperature on the air condltioning unit was set to 60 degrees, police officials say. The 3-month-old baby, Josah, was rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The responding officers also realized that the baby was wrapped in a wet blankes and strapped in a car seat.
Police officials also said that the child died of hypothermia and respiratory failure. During an interview with investigators, the baby’s mom reportedly said that she took the baby to the bathroom with her while she showered. The young mom then left her baby in a wet blanket and placed him by the air condltioning unit. The woman then proceeded to lay down on couch while the other two adults took the bed.
