Jacksonville, FL – According to the police officials, the 37-year-old mom, later identified as MicheIIe, the victim’s 21-year-old sibling, later identified as Tireck, and the victim’s grandparent, later identified as 70-year-old Jammes, were taken into custody and later charged with multiple charges, including: first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, aggravated manslaughter in the death of a child and other charges in connections with 7-year-old Deante’s death last year.
During the investigation process, authorities reportedly discovered that the victim required around-the-clock skilled nursing care because he was diagnosed at birth with multiple health conditions and disorders. The medical examiner told investigators that the child died of severe malnutrition during a scheme to defraud a gvernment program that provides health insurance for adults and children with limited income and resources.
At the time of his death, the child weighed less than 7 lbs, police officials said. The child, who had a feeding and breathing tube, reportedly died of starvation while authorities found more than 250 unopened bottIes of feedlng formuIa inside the family home. Prosecutors released a statement, saying that the child’s mom, sibling, grandparent and two home care employees.
According to the police officials,33-year-old nurse Cassandra and 47-year-old Mirlande were also charged in connection with this incident. Both home care employees were charged with third-degree murder, while the 33-year-old nurse is also charged with first-degree murder because she stopped going to the victim’s home for more than 6 months while claiming she have done so.
