The investigation process began in May 2019 after the defendant called 911 and told the dispatcher that the child was in distress. First responders rushed the baby, DeAntthony, in distress to the hospital where he was pronounced dead several days later. The father then grabbed the boy and tried to take him into the kitchen to give him his bottle.
