Philadelphia, PA – According to the court documents, the 44-year-old man, later identified as J0hn, was sentenced to life behind bars after he killed his 33-year-old girlfriend, Jalme, five years ago. The man, who was already married and lived a double life, reportedly travelled from Pennsylvania to Nevada with his 33-year-old girlfriend so they ‘would look for a house and where they would potentially get married. Unfortunately, the victim didn’t know that her boyfriend was planning to kill her.
The investigation process began in October 2019 after people traveling across the desert in Nevada found the victim’s body. The body, which was already decomposing, was reportedly tied to a street sign with zip ties. The victim’s mouth and nose were duct taped, court records say. The victim was identified nearly 1 month later, using her previous medical procedures, a tattoo and dental records, and authorities took the defendant into custody as a suspect. She remained unidentified until Nov. 15, 2019, when the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office learned that the Bethel Park Police Department had arrested Chapman as a suspect in Feden’s disappearance.
Police said Feden’s neighbors reported seeing who they thought was Chapman going in and out of her home, where police found ID cards with his name and photo, her cellphone, zip ties, and a roll of duct tape in her home, prosecutors said. Authorities in Nevada confirmed the identity of the remains as Feden from her slight 4-foot-1-inch frame, previous medical procedures, a tattoo and dental records. During the investigation process, authorities discovered that the man told the victim that they should go in Nevada and look for a house. The victim thought that she is starting a new life with the defendant, but his plan was to kill her.
Just several days after they arrived at the destination, the defendant told her that they should go to the desert and make a photo shoot. The man then tied his girlfriend, who was completely without clothes, to a street sign before duct taping her mouth and nose. The defendant then watched the woman suffocate to death. The victim’s family member reportedly said that her family and friends didn’t like the relationship with the defendant, but the victim didn’t listened. The woman also said that the defendant was very mean to her and used her for money. Prosecutors said the defendant was already married to another woman and was living a double life. The defendant’s wife, Mauren, reportedly told investigators that her husband admitted the murder to her while calling from the police station.
