Albuquerque, N.M. – According to the police officials, the mother, later identified as 40-year-old Yvone, was taken into custody and later charged with abuse of a child not resulting in death or great bodily harm. Per reports, the woman was not arrested just once, but twice in the last 2 weeks.
The woman was initially charged after her child, who was not identified due to his age, told library personnel that his mom beat him with a mop handle. The responding officers made contact with the 14-year-old boy, who reportedly told them that his brother beat him because he didn’t cleaned their yard. Police officials released a statement, saying that the child suffered visible injuries.
The responding officers then went to the mother’s home, where they made contact with the parent. During an interview with investigators, the woman reportedly said that her son was lying and that he ran away from home because she wanted to search him for ‘forbidden things’.
During the investigation process, officers reportedly discovered that at one incident, earlier in May, the mother reportedly found a vape, but couldn’t figure out who it belonged to. The woman then took two children and reportedly forced them to smoke cigarettes until they vomited. The 40-year-old mom then got angry because the children vomited and used pepper spray on them. The 40-year-old mom is being held without bond, court records say.
