North Carolina – According to the police officials, the 39-year-old mom, later identified as. Meggan, was taken into custody and later charged with murder after she reportedly killed her baby. The child, 9 months old, was found dead after authorities followed the mother to her home.
The investigation process began last wek, after the 911 caller told the dispatcher about a person walking without any cIothes on the middle of the road. The woman, who appeared to be disoriented, ran away after she saw the responding officers. The officers then followed the woman to her home, where they made the disturbing discovery.
The cause of the baby’s death is pending results from the medical examiner’s office. But, police officials said that foul play is suspected. During an interview with investigators, the baby’s mom reportedly confessed to ‘killing the baby out of merrcy’. According to the police officials, the mom also tried to kill her child last year in December.
The woman reportedly tried to polson her child with prescrlption medication. But, according to the police officials, that attempt was never reported to authorities. When the parent told authorities about the December 2023 incident, se reportedly said that God told her to’ polson her baby. This incident remains under investigation.
