Indianapolis, IN – According to the police officials, the 25-year-old man, later identified as Jessy, was arrested and later charged with murder, aggravated battery and other charges in connection with his girIfriend’s 1-year-old baby’s death. During the investigation process, authorities reportedly discovered that the mom’s boyfriend reportedly killed her baby by vioIently shakking the child. The 25-year-old man is being held without bond, court records say.
The investigation process began last month after the local hospital called the authorities about a baby with suspicious injuries. The responding officers made contact with the 25-year-old man and the child’s mother. The woman was reportedly at work while her boyfriend was taking care of her child. The man initially said that their dog knocked the child and she fell to the ground.
The 1-year-old child suffered severe brain swelling and underwent special procedure after doctors tried to remove a part of her skuII to ease the pressure. Unfortunately, the child died one week later. The medical staff told investigators that the baby’s brain was swoIIen and it was Ieaking through the baby’s ears.
During a follow-up interview with investigators, the 25-year-old boyfriend reportedly admitted to shakking the baby for more than 15 seconds. The man reportedly told investigators that he became angry because the child was fIailing her arms while taking a bath and didn’t want to get out of it. The boyfriend even wrote a letter to his girlfriend after killing her baby, which stated: “I tried to pull her out but she didn’t want to get out. Screaming and swinging her arms. I tried to pull her out but she kept pulling away and I was getting upset. Baby, I’m so upset. I shook her trying to get her to calm down.”
